known in the poetry world as "Marmi the Griot," is a Columbus-based poet, chaplain, nonprofit leader, and event curator. With signature events like Men Do Poetry Too and Poetry Unbound, Jamar blends the soul of poetry with social impact and creative excellence. His work is rooted in artistic leadership, curriculum design, and keynote engagement—creating moments that educate, heal, and uplift.

A scholar and certified chaplain and nonprofit leader, Jamar brings a unique spiritual and academic lens to poetry. His leadership has empowered both emerging and established poets across Ohio and beyond. From officiating weddings to developing workshops and strategic messaging for organizations, his poetry serves purpose.

When not behind a mic, you’ll find him cycling, swimming, or spending time with his children adding to his poetic lens on life.
